Maid of Honor - Bachelorette Party
Bachelorette Party: Girls' Night Out
The bridal shower is a fun, often low-key event that is about showering the bride with attention and gifts. The bachelorette party, however, is a night dedicated to letting your hair down and partying!
The bachelorette party is equivalent to the Bachelor Party or Stag Party enjoyed by the Groom and the groomsmen. As the Maid of Honor it is your responsibility to put together a great night out for the Bride and her closest friends.
The bachelorette party gives the Bride and her best friends a night out to blow off steam, stress, and worries, and most importantly, celebrate the end of an era for the Bride - one of the last nights of her being a single gal about the town!
Planning a bachelorette party is no time to be demure, unless of course the Bride would not appreciate a wild night out. Now, before you go picking out male dancers, sex-themed games and favors, keep in mind that the Bride's temperament and the general temperament of her friends should be considered.
As Maid of Honor you will need to decide if the night will be down and dirty (bars, male dancers, adult-themed games and favors, etc) or more fun and upbeat (cocktails, tarot card reader or psychic, dancing) or more relaxed and classy (dinner, boat cruise, cocktails, etc).
The Maid of Honor is responsible for planning the bachelorette party from soup to nuts. You make the guest list, you pick the day and time, you set the budget and you determine how the event will be paid for - either you can pay the whole bill or you can split it up among the invitees.
Invitations for the bachelorette party are typically casual, such as electronic invitations, or perhaps even informal phone calls. Sometimes the Maid of Honor does send more formal invitations if she thinks it is more appropriate.
The Maid of Honor should consider the perfect night to throw the party, she can even coordinate it with the Best Man and have it on the same night, perhaps the Bachelor Party and Bachelorette Party connecting at some point.
The key is to plan a fun night out that will let the Bride truly enjoy herself on one of the last nights or perhaps the very last night of her being a single lady!!
